21 August 2011

A month late but ....

I am slipping more than I thought ... I had still not posted the DT projects for May!  Why didn't you tell me???  (On a side note, I didn't give the ladies any supplies for June, so there will be no June DT projects posted.  *sigh*  I'm actually giving them the summer off so you won't see them again until the end of September.)

(ETA:  I am truly losing my mind.  I thought I had posted this but then noticed today (8/21) that I had just clicked SAVE and not POST so it never posted! So, technically, the post title is wrong too but not changing it.  Argh!)

The girls played with the Miracles paper pack papers, Love Letters rub-ons, and the Kraft Color Ready Borders!  They did their usual magic, of course, and wowed me with their creativity.  :-)

Irma's!

Gorgeous, yes?  I love how she used some of the borders to create a frill along the top of her pennants.  Inpsired!

Nikki's!

Nikki has a great slap-scrap style, as she calls it!  All the little touches really bring it together.

She also did a card for us! Loving the little details.  :-)

The Groom

Here is the layout I did for the March Challenge that I  posted HERE.   The first picture is the sketch I chose from the ones listed on PageMaps and the second is the layout I did.  I turned the sketch 90 degrees right to better accomodate the photo.

I don't really care for the end result - it's not what I had envisioned when I started this layout.  It's done, though, and it's time to move on.  LOL!

My photomerge in Photoshop Elements blended the layout funky so I just took a picture of the layout in the end so it's not the best 'true to life' colors since my camera does NOT like taking photos indoors.  It's still better than the scanned version, though!  :-)

Anyhooo.... I combined the March Challenge with the one I gave the DT ladies ... I used Bliss and incorporated green into the layout.

Supplies Used (All CTMH unless otherwise noted):

Patterned Paper: Bliss Level 2 Paper Pack
Punches: Fiskars
Ribbon: (Basic Grey)
Staples: (Office Depot)
Letter Stickers: (Basic Grey - Perhaps)

March DT Projects

For March, I gave the ladies:
- Bliss Level 2 Paper Pack papers with coordinating cardstock
- Filigree Charms

Their challenge for the month (and since March has St. Patrick's Day) was to use GREEN on their layout as well.  :-)

As per usual, they both kicked some butt with their creations:

Irma's:

Irma wasn't sure about this one but I am loving it.  :-)  She's her own worst citic but she's got more talent in her pinkie than I do in my whole body.

Lots of texture on this layout.  She cut the title using her diecut machine and popped the "whoo's".  The pleasted patterned paper adds even more dimension.  Distressed edges give added interest.

Loving how the journaling strips run vertically rather than horizontally.

Nikki's:

Nikki has been doing a fair amount of heritage pages and it really reminds me of why we scrapbook.  I need to start working on more of my own heritage pages. My family history is what got me started scrapbooking and I've lost touch with that aspect of the hobby over the years.

She did two this month!  Love it!

Embossing her accents gives some texture and added interest.  Layering them gives even more bang for  her buck.

More embossing.  Pure fun.

Fussy cutting one the stamped images and popping the columns adds some interest to the page.

Ink distressing is one of my fave techniques as it really gives seperation from other elements and helps it stand out.

In April they will be playing with the Sophia Level 2 Paper Pack, some Blush buttons, white daisy ricrak, pearl opaques and hollyhock ribbon.

Their challenge?  They need to use a MINIMUM of 2 circles on whatever they decide to create with their supplies.  :-)
